.BIZ Scheduled to Launch on November 7th
The new .BIZ domain names are scheduled to be available for public registrations at 12:01am EST on Wednesday, November 7th. Buy Domains will be offering .BIZ domain names for only $16 a year. Like all registrations, the .BIZ domains come with the following Value-Added Services:

53,000 .BIZ Domains Are Put to a Halt
Last week an LA Judge issued a preliminary injunction against NeuLevel, the exclusive registry operator for the .BIZ, charging that some of the .BIZ domains were assigned through an illegal lottery. The pre-registration of 53,000 domains is being questioned. Nearly 1.2 million applications for the 53,000 names were turned in and winners for each name were to be picked on Oct. 23. NeuLevel strongly believes that their process was fair and in conjunction with ICANN policy. Given the recent tld launch problems with the .INFO domains, Neulevel has pushed the launch date for .BIZ to Wednesday, November 7th at 12.01am EST. When .BIZ domains go live, Buy Domains will be offering them for the same low cost and with the same free value added services as .INFO, .COM, .NET and .ORG.

ICANN UPDATE
November Meeting in Marina Del Ray
ICANN announced that they will hold its November quarterly meeting as scheduled, in Marina Del Ray, California. However, with the unexpected Sept. 11th tragic events, they plan to refocus the agenda to address the stability and security of the Domain Name System (DNS). The meetings are open to all individuals and will be held from Nov. 13-15. Pre-registration is required. Visit www.icann.org for more information and registration details.
